HBO’s Game of Thrones has gone to painstaking lengths to bring the heroic fantasy book series A Song of Fire and Ice by George R. R. Martin to life in its adaptation, a feat once thought by the author himself to be impossible. No one is more familiar with the challenges of bringing a character to life than the cosplay community who constantly strive to present the most authentic version of the character they are portraying.
Helping to catapult the fantasy fandom further into the mainstream, Game of Thrones has successfully surpassed the trend other popular fantasy adaptations such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter had started. Just think about how many Daenerys Targaryens you came across this Halloween. However, there is a special passion held by those who choose to undertake a Game of Thrones cosplay, for as we have seen the bar has been set high by the show’s costume designers.

Could any land be any farther from the European motherland, birthplace of the Renaissance that is the Genesis-point of the visual arts narrative we continue expanding and evolving today? And yet this remote country of islands in the Pacific has suddenly become a cinematic storytelling powerhouse, a film-friendly factory for the creation of some of the most important touchstone mass entertainment experiences to influence our popular culture in recent years.
The digital revolution has liberated the “casts of thousands” from the Hollywood studio back-lots once needed to populate action-adventure epics, and the Internet is changing financing, production and distribution models so drastically as to forever diminish Hollywood’s hegemony over the movie business, with hundreds of smaller, but just as productive hubs becoming new centers of filmed story creation worldwide.
New Zealand is one such center, exemplified by Weta Workshop's role in changing the film-making landscape there, taking advantage of its wonderfully diverse landscape offering several completely different terrains to film in as well as its artistically talented inhabitants.
For over twenty years this creative powerhouse has been at the forefront of conceptualizing and then bringing to reality imaginary worlds. No, I’m not talking about an apocalyptic “Rise of the Machines,” but rather about the future ascent of people who excel in creativity, intuition, and the marshaling of original solutions, things that computers won’t be able to do for a long time. Tomorrow’s rewards will be won by creative people who contribute new ideas. Call it the Right Brain Revolution.1 Post4 PostsSucceeding the already phenomenal Infinity War and serving as the Grand Finale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Myth Arc, with every surviving hero once again reuniting to undo Thanos' universal genocide and restore all life to how it once was, Avengers: Endgame having crowning moments of awesome was inevitable. And it clearly shows that Marvel Studios is dialing everything Up to Eleven: culminating in the single greatest final battle in comic book movie history.
It's the culmination of eleven years, 22 films, billions of dollars in box office money, and the most tremendous All-Star Cast of its decade—and quite possibly in any decade, for that matter. It would even go on to dethrone Avatar and become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Endgame proves to be the perfect capstone atop a crowning universe of awesome.4 Posts4 PostsOMG that ending. Most fans expected this movie to have some twists and shocks, but it’s unlikely all of them expected Infinity War to end the way it did.
That’s good; there’s a lot to discuss. It was pretty much inevitable, considering the 18 previous movies it had to tie together, that Infinity War was going to be the most jam-packed Marvel Cinematic Universe film ever. And it was. From the remains of Asgard to the borders of Wakanda to the Collector’s museum on Knowhere, it traversed the entire MCU and managed to not be a total mess. (Not an easy feat.) It also had some great guest appearances and more than a few surprisingly touching moments.
Last weekend Avengers: Infinity War made more than $640 million at the global box office—and at least $258 million of that came from domestic theaters, a number that easily bests previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is relevant for two reasons: One, holy crap that’s a lot of money. Two, it means we can finally talk about this movie freely since pretty much anyone who wanted to see it has now done so, apparently.
Bottom line: It’s been 10 years and 18 films, but is it possible the present-day timeline of these films (you know, the parts that aren’t Captain America-esque flashbacks) have taken place in the span of a few months or maybe a year? If so, this war is far from infinite.4 Posts1 Post1 Post1 PostAfter nine Star Wars movies, two Star Wars stories, and countless TV show episodes, The Mandalorian has finally given us something utterly priceless. No, not Baby Yoda—although, yes, I would die for that damn thing. I refer to the Mandalorian himself: a protagonist who finally understands military tactics.
He’s an expert at cover and concealment. He actually aims his shots. In the Mandalorian, the Star Wars universe for the first time has a character who engages in believable combat. As if that weren’t enough, the show also introduces Cara Dune, an ex-Rebel special forces operative turned mercenary who also has tactical chops. (Some spoilers ahead.)
The show itself is a masterpiece of low-key military moments. It nails details as small as the way Stormtroopers move with their blasters at shoulder level, prepared to fire. It also offers a corrective to most TV shows, in which the method of helping a casualty is to run up and try to render first aid as bullets—or in this case, blasters—fly all around them. That's a great way for both people to end up shot, which is why the military advises the method that Cara Dune adopts when the Mandalorian gets wounded in a firefight in the last episode: Drag the casualty into cover for assessment while providing vast quantities of covering fire. Here, he's fighting a lizard monster with bullets.

This is close to the shot I wanted to get of the Milky Way over Mt Hood. Sadly by the time it was truly visible after the sun dipped below the horizon, it had shifted too far west. Although this area isnt truly designated as a dark sky area (due to proximity to Portland) I could still clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Amazing!

The character's name “Rorschach” refers to the famous ink blot test of the same name, developed by Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach. The test involves a series of ten inkblot pictures shown to a patient in order to provide a psychological evaluation. The patient describes what he sees—sometimes a face, sometimes a butterfly. The subjectiveness of the test and the possibility of contradictory answers allows for the riddle: an entity being two different things simultaneously—someone, no one, etc.
Rorschach acts as the novel’s principle storytelling vehicle; much of it is framed through his investigative journal.
After masked heroes are outlawed by congress, Rorschach begins fighting crime alone. He does so until October 1985, when the novel begins. In October, Rorschach investigates the killing of another superhero, the Comedian. Believing somebody to be assassinating masked heroes, Rorschach calls on each of his former crime-fighting partners: Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandias, Nite Owl, and Silk Spectre. Only Nite Owl adopts Rorschach’s suspicions and the two begin further investigating. Midway through the story, however, Rorschach walks into a trap and is violently arrested by police.

Video games were too expensive in the early 90s, so many kids had an Atari 2600/Dactar or the pirate versions of NES. I used to play on a 60s tv Colorado. I grow up thinking the Atari games were originaly B&W.

When I saw a books, there are three concept caught in my mind, time, life and illussions, Same as a literature that writed by Komang Sutra. Life is not used to be. I could simply trust no one, because their words always have two meanings. A years ago, in library, someone told me you can't go anywhere, we are just trapped in a parallel world, is like a field of out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing. It took me a months to know the answer for my self, why I am here, for who, all of this is a about what.
We're unique as intelligent creature that created by gods, but this universe easily stated that we, just, nothing.
For some kind of book, like novel, they often gives many perspective about life, my fav book was a /girls in the dark/ that writed by rikako akiyoshi, kinda reminds me of statement don't judge a book by it's cover.

Helping to catapult the fantasy fandom further into the mainstream, Game of Thrones has successfully surpassed the trend other popular fantasy adaptations such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter had started. Just think about how many Daenerys Targaryens you came across this Halloween. However, there is a special passion held by those who choose to undertake a Game of Thrones cosplay, for as we have seen the bar has been set high by the show’s costume designers.

And yet this remote country of islands in the Pacific has suddenly become a cinematic storytelling powerhouse, a film-friendly factory for the creation of some of the most important touchstone mass entertainment experiences to influence our popular culture in recent years.
The digital revolution has liberated the “casts of thousands” from the Hollywood studio back-lots once needed to populate action-adventure epics, and the Internet is changing financing, production and distribution models so drastically as to forever diminish Hollywood’s hegemony over the movie business, with hundreds of smaller, but just as productive hubs becoming new centers of filmed story creation worldwide.
New Zealand is one such center, exemplified by Weta Workshop's role in changing the film-making landscape there, taking advantage of its wonderfully diverse landscape offering several completely different terrains to film in as well as its artistically talented inhabitants.
For over twenty years this creative powerhouse has been at the forefront of conceptualizing and then bringing to reality imaginary worlds. Beyond Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, their work has guided the cinematic visions of films such as King Kong, District 9, Elysium, The Adventures of Tintin, Avatar, and most recently The Amazing Spider-man 2, and Godzilla.

Tomorrow’s rewards will be won by creative people who contribute new ideas. That’s good; there’s a lot to discuss. It was pretty much inevitable, considering the 18 previous movies it had to tie together, that Infinity War was going to be the most jam-packed Marvel Cinematic Universe film ever. And it was. From the remains of Asgard to the borders of Wakanda to the Collector’s museum on Knowhere, it traversed the entire MCU and managed to not be a total mess. (Not an easy feat.) It also had some great guest appearances and more than a few surprisingly touching moments.
Last weekend Avengers: Infinity War made more than $640 million at the global box office—and at least $258 million of that came from domestic theaters, a number that easily bests previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is relevant for two reasons: One, holy crap that’s a lot of money. Two, it means we can finally talk about this movie freely since pretty much anyone who wanted to see it has now done so, apparently.
Bottom line: It’s been 10 years and 18 films, but is it possible the present-day timeline of these films (you know, the parts that aren’t Captain America-esque flashbacks) have taken place in the span of a few months or maybe a year? If so, this war is far from infinite.4 Posts1 Post1 Post1 PostAfter nine Star Wars movies, two Star Wars stories, and countless TV show episodes, The Mandalorian has finally given us something utterly priceless. No, not Baby Yoda—although, yes, I would die for that damn thing. I refer to the Mandalorian himself: a protagonist who finally understands military tactics.
He’s an expert at cover and concealment. He actually aims his shots. In the Mandalorian, the Star Wars universe for the first time has a character who engages in believable combat. As if that weren’t enough, the show also introduces Cara Dune, an ex-Rebel special forces operative turned mercenary who also has tactical chops. (Some spoilers ahead.)
The show itself is a masterpiece of low-key military moments. It nails details as small as the way Stormtroopers move with their blasters at shoulder level, prepared to fire. It also offers a corrective to most TV shows, in which the method of helping a casualty is to run up and try to render first aid as bullets—or in this case, blasters—fly all around them. That's a great way for both people to end up shot, which is why the military advises the method that Cara Dune adopts when the Mandalorian gets wounded in a firefight in the last episode: Drag the casualty into cover for assessment while providing vast quantities of covering fire. Deadpool's primary power is an accelerated healing factor, depicted by various writers at differing levels of efficiency. The speed of his healing factor depends on the severity of the wound and Deadpool's mental state. It works most efficiently when he is awake, alert, and in good spirits. 0This is close to the shot I wanted to get of the Milky Way over Mt Hood. Sadly by the time it was truly visible after the sun dipped below the horizon, it had shifted too far west. Although this area isnt truly designated as a dark sky area (due to proximity to Portland) I could still clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Amazing!

0When I saw a books, there are three concept caught in my mind, time, life and illussions, Same as a literature that writed by Komang Sutra. Life is not used to be. I could simply trust no one, because their words always have two meanings. A years ago, in library, someone told me you can't go anywhere, we are just trapped in a parallel world, is like a field of out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing. Helping to catapult the fantasy fandom further into the mainstream, Game of Thrones has successfully surpassed the trend other popular fantasy adaptations such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter had started. Just think about how many Daenerys Targaryens you came across this Halloween. However, there is a special passion held by those who choose to undertake a Game of Thrones cosplay, for as we have seen the bar has been set high by the show’s costume designers.

That’s good; there’s a lot to discuss. It was pretty much inevitable, considering the 18 previous movies it had to tie together, that Infinity War was going to be the most jam-packed Marvel Cinematic Universe film ever. And it was. From the remains of Asgard to the borders of Wakanda to the Collector’s museum on Knowhere, it traversed the entire MCU and managed to not be a total mess. (Not an easy feat.) It also had some great guest appearances and more than a few surprisingly touching moments.
Last weekend Avengers: Infinity War made more than $640 million at the global box office—and at least $258 million of that came from domestic theaters, a number that easily bests previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is relevant for two reasons: One, holy crap that’s a lot of money. Two, it means we can finally talk about this movie freely since pretty much anyone who wanted to see it has now done so, apparently.
Bottom line: It’s been 10 years and 18 films, but is it possible the present-day timeline of these films (you know, the parts that aren’t Captain America-esque flashbacks) have taken place in the span of a few months or maybe a year? If so, this war is far from infinite.4 Posts1 Post1 Post1 PostAfter nine Star Wars movies, two Star Wars stories, and countless TV show episodes, The Mandalorian has finally given us something utterly priceless. No, not Baby Yoda—although, yes, I would die for that damn thing. I refer to the Mandalorian himself: a protagonist who finally understands military tactics.
He’s an expert at cover and concealment. He actually aims his shots. In the Mandalorian, the Star Wars universe for the first time has a character who engages in believable combat. As if that weren’t enough, the show also introduces Cara Dune, an ex-Rebel special forces operative turned mercenary who also has tactical chops. (Some spoilers ahead.)
The show itself is a masterpiece of low-key military moments. It nails details as small as the way Stormtroopers move with their blasters at shoulder level, prepared to fire. It also offers a corrective to most TV shows, in which the method of helping a casualty is to run up and try to render first aid as bullets—or in this case, blasters—fly all around them. That's a great way for both people to end up shot, which is why the military advises the method that Cara Dune adopts when the Mandalorian gets wounded in a firefight in the last episode: Drag the casualty into cover for assessment while providing vast quantities of covering fire. Last weekend Avengers: Infinity War made more than $640 million at the global box office—and at least $258 million of that came from domestic theaters, a number that easily bests previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is relevant for two reasons: One, holy crap that’s a lot of money. Two, it means we can finally talk about this movie freely since pretty much anyone who wanted to see it has now done so, apparently.
Bottom line: It’s been 10 years and 18 films, but is it possible the present-day timeline of these films (you know, the parts that aren’t Captain America-esque flashbacks) have taken place in the span of a few months or maybe a year? If so, this war is far from infinite.4 Posts1 Post1 Post1 PostAfter nine Star Wars movies, two Star Wars stories, and countless TV show episodes, The Mandalorian has finally given us something utterly priceless. No, not Baby Yoda—although, yes, I would die for that damn thing. I refer to the Mandalorian himself: a protagonist who finally understands military tactics.
He’s an expert at cover and concealment. He actually aims his shots. In the Mandalorian, the Star Wars universe for the first time has a character who engages in believable combat. As if that weren’t enough, the show also introduces Cara Dune, an ex-Rebel special forces operative turned mercenary who also has tactical chops. (Some spoilers ahead.)
The show itself is a masterpiece of low-key military moments. It nails details as small as the way Stormtroopers move with their blasters at shoulder level, prepared to fire. It also offers a corrective to most TV shows, in which the method of helping a casualty is to run up and try to render first aid as bullets—or in this case, blasters—fly all around them. That's a great way for both people to end up shot, which is why the military advises the method that Cara Dune adopts when the Mandalorian gets wounded in a firefight in the last episode: Drag the casualty into cover for assessment while providing vast quantities of covering fire. 0This is close to the shot I wanted to get of the Milky Way over Mt Hood. Sadly by the time it was truly visible after the sun dipped below the horizon, it had shifted too far west. Although this area isnt truly designated as a dark sky area (due to proximity to Portland) I could still clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Amazing!

Video games were too expensive in the early 90s, so many kids had an Atari 2600/Dactar or the pirate versions of NES. I used to play on a 60s tv Colorado. I grow up thinking the Atari games were originaly B&W.

0When I saw a books, there are three concept caught in my mind, time, life and illussions, Same as a literature that writed by Komang Sutra. Life is not used to be. A years ago, in library, someone told me you can't go anywhere, we are just trapped in a parallel world, is like a field of out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing. However, there is a special passion held by those who choose to undertake a Game of Thrones cosplay, for as we have seen the bar has been set high by the show’s costume designers.

Perhaps Weta Workshop's greatest contribution has been its ability to instill passion and inspiration to all those who follow their creative dreams. That’s good; there’s a lot to discuss. It was pretty much inevitable, considering the 18 previous movies it had to tie together, that Infinity War was going to be the most jam-packed Marvel Cinematic Universe film ever. And it was. From the remains of Asgard to the borders of Wakanda to the Collector’s museum on Knowhere, it traversed the entire MCU and managed to not be a total mess. (Not an easy feat.) It also had some great guest appearances and more than a few surprisingly touching moments.

As if that weren’t enough, the show also introduces Cara Dune, an ex-Rebel special forces operative turned mercenary who also has tactical chops. (Some spoilers ahead.)

The digital revolution has liberated the “casts of thousands” from the Hollywood studio back-lots once needed to populate action-adventure epics, and the Internet is changing financing, production and distribution models so drastically as to forever diminish Hollywood’s hegemony over the movie business, with hundreds of smaller, but just as productive hubs becoming new centers of filmed story creation worldwide.
New Zealand is one such center, exemplified by Weta Workshop's role in changing the film-making landscape there, taking advantage of its wonderfully diverse landscape offering several completely different terrains to film in as well as its artistically talented inhabitants.
For over twenty years this creative powerhouse has been at the forefront of conceptualizing and then bringing to reality imaginary worlds. Beyond Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, their work has guided the cinematic visions of films such as King Kong, District 9, Elysium, The Adventures of Tintin, Avatar, and most recently The Amazing Spider-man 2, and Godzilla.
Perhaps Weta Workshop's greatest contribution has been its ability to instill passion and inspiration to all those who follow their creative dreams. One such artist was so inspired eleven years ago through his love of Lord of the Rings and is now a senior concept designer at Weta Workshop. 1 PostOver the next 100 years, the importance of creativity will trump systems thinking due to the rapidly escalating power of computers.
No, I’m not talking about an apocalyptic “Rise of the Machines,” but rather about the future ascent of people who excel in creativity, intuition, and the marshaling of original solutions, things that computers won’t be able to do for a long time. Tomorrow’s rewards will be won by creative people who contribute new ideas. It would even go on to dethrone Avatar and become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Endgame proves to be the perfect capstone atop a crowning universe of awesome.4 Posts4 PostsOMG that ending. Most fans expected this movie to have some twists and shocks, but it’s unlikely all of them expected Infinity War to end the way it did.
That’s good; there’s a lot to discuss. It was pretty much inevitable, considering the 18 previous movies it had to tie together, that Infinity War was going to be the most jam-packed Marvel Cinematic Universe film ever. And it was. From the remains of Asgard to the borders of Wakanda to the Collector’s museum on Knowhere, it traversed the entire MCU and managed to not be a total mess. (Not an easy feat.) It also had some great guest appearances and more than a few surprisingly touching moments.
Last weekend Avengers: Infinity War made more than $640 million at the global box office—and at least $258 million of that came from domestic theaters, a number that easily bests previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The speed of his healing factor depends on the severity of the wound and Deadpool's mental state. It works most efficiently when he is awake, alert, and in good spirits. Here, he's fighting a lizard monster with bullets.
0This is close to the shot I wanted to get of the Milky Way over Mt Hood. Sadly by the time it was truly visible after the sun dipped below the horizon, it had shifted too far west. Although this area isnt truly designated as a dark sky area (due to proximity to Portland) I could still clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Amazing!

Video games were too expensive in the early 90s, so many kids had an Atari 2600/Dactar or the pirate versions of NES. I used to play on a 60s tv Colorado. I grow up thinking the Atari games were originaly B&W.

0Laura Kinney is X-23, the perfect killing machine created from stolen DNA of Wolverine himself. Now free from The Facility that valued her only as a killer, Laura has become a hero and sometimes member of the X-Men.
0When I saw a books, there are three concept caught in my mind, time, life and illussions, Same as a literature that writed by Komang Sutra. Life is not used to be. I could simply trust no one, because their words always have two meanings. A years ago, in library, someone told me you can't go anywhere, we are just trapped in a parallel world, is like a field of out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing. It took me a months to know the answer for my self, why I am here, for who, all of this is a about what.
We're unique as intelligent creature that created by gods, but this universe easily stated that we, just, nothing.
For some kind of book, like novel, they often gives many perspective about life, my fav book was a /girls in the dark/ that writed by rikako akiyoshi, kinda reminds me of statement don't judge a book by it's cover.

Deadpool's primary power is an accelerated healing factor, depicted by various writers at differing levels of efficiency. The speed of his healing factor depends on the severity of the wound and Deadpool's mental state. It works most efficiently when he is awake, alert, and in good spirits. Here, he's fighting a lizard monster with bullets.
0This is close to the shot I wanted to get of the Milky Way over Mt Hood. Sadly by the time it was truly visible after the sun dipped below the horizon, it had shifted too far west. Although this area isnt truly designated as a dark sky area (due to proximity to Portland) I could still clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Amazing!

Video games were too expensive in the early 90s, so many kids had an Atari 2600/Dactar or the pirate versions of NES. I used to play on a 60s tv Colorado. I grow up thinking the Atari games were originaly B&W.

0Rorschach acts as the novel’s principle storytelling vehicle; much of it is framed through his investigative journal.
After masked heroes are outlawed by congress, Rorschach begins fighting crime alone. He does so until October 1985, when the novel begins. In October, Rorschach investigates the killing of another superhero, the Comedian. Believing somebody to be assassinating masked heroes, Rorschach calls on each of his former crime-fighting partners: Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandias, Nite Owl, and Silk Spectre. Video games were too expensive in the early 90s, so many kids had an Atari 2600/Dactar or the pirate versions of NES. I used to play on a 60s tv Colorado. I grow up thinking the Atari games were originaly B&W.

0When I saw a books, there are three concept caught in my mind, time, life and illussions, Same as a literature that writed by Komang Sutra. Life is not used to be. I could simply trust no one, because their words always have two meanings. A years ago, in library, someone told me you can't go anywhere, we are just trapped in a parallel world, is like a field of out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing. It took me a months to know the answer for my self, why I am here, for who, all of this is a about what.
We're unique as intelligent creature that created by gods, but this universe easily stated that we, just, nothing.
For some kind of book, like novel, they often gives many perspective about life, my fav book was a /girls in the dark/ that writed by rikako akiyoshi, kinda reminds me of statement don't judge a book by it's cover.

0This is close to the shot I wanted to get of the Milky Way over Mt Hood. Sadly by the time it was truly visible after the sun dipped below the horizon, it had shifted too far west. Although this area isnt truly designated as a dark sky area (due to proximity to Portland) I could still clearly see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Amazing!

0When I saw a books, there are three concept caught in my mind, time, life and illussions, Same as a literature that writed by Komang Sutra. Life is not used to be. A years ago, in library, someone told me you can't go anywhere, we are just trapped in a parallel world, is like a field of out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing. It took me a months to know the answer for my self, why I am here, for who, all of this is a about what.
We're unique as intelligent creature that created by gods, but this universe easily stated that we, just, nothing.
For some kind of book, like novel, they often gives many perspective about life, my fav book was a /girls in the dark/ that writed by rikako akiyoshi, kinda reminds me of statement don't judge a book by it's cover.
